AVCam 300 Samples

11/11/2003 v1.1

Below are several images taken with the AVCam 300. Besure to check out my other AVCam 300 sample pages:

Assaf Spiegle in Switzerland - taken with firmware 1.1.01:

The two pictures in the middle (above) look very good.

The last two pictures above show how the auto exposure sometimes (at least with 1.1.01) get things right

The picture on the right (above) shows a really bad exposure setting - very dark.

Assaf Spiegle in Switzerland - taken with firmware 1.2.01:

The "keys" (Left, Above), were taken from 4" away. If you look at the full-sized you can see it is pretty blurry.

The "castle" pictures, though a few are a little dark, are very good. The third one from the left (above) is particularly nice.

Notice how crisp the trees are in the picture on the right (above).

Scenery Video at 25fps, 2000kbps: 6580k
The video isn't very good. It is dark and you can see sudden changes in brightness. It also isn't very sharp.

Pogara in the UK - taken with firmware 1.2.01:

Pogara provided a sequence of "zooms" to show the zoom capabilities of the AV300. Left: Normal, Center: full 3x optical, Right: Full Optical + Digital. Notice the reduced resolution of the full-zoomed image. The optical zoom looks excellent.

1x and 3x picts inside the British Museum at night. Except for the blurriness on the 3x zoom, they look quite good.

Video of a double-decker buss driving by: 20fps, 1500kbps, 835k
Video of zooming in on the church pictured above: 20fps, 1500kbps, 1413k
Again, the video quality is disappointing - dark and not sharp.

Zerocool in France: (info about this source)

Two indoor shots. The one with the lights on is very crisp (nice case!). The one with the lights off is blurry, but still decent.

Video pan of the case (above): 25fps, 2000kbps, 1300k
Same disappointing video quality.
