  • Fixed av300 sometimes hanging when selecting one of the corders in the main menu after a recent HD formatting.

  • Fixed folder copying. A folder now cannot be copied into itself. This had made about 20 nested folders before.
  • Fixed last video file continuously replaying in a folder with playmode set to 'Folder'& 'Repeat'. Now correctly repeats though all videos in the folder.

  • MP3 encoding can now be done in 192kbit/s CBR for sample rates of 32, 44.1 and 48kHz
  • The Audiocorder can now record also in PCM/WAV format

Release on 10/16/2003. Archos posted the following warning on their website about this firmware:

"Caution: For technical reasons, this release of the Operating System (OS) will not allow a downgrade to a previously released version. If you feel you do not need the improvements brought by this release or want to be able to downgrade to a previously released version, then you should not upgrade your product with this release. Be assured this was done purely out of necessity and not as an attempt to limit using previous OS versions." -Archos
